"It started during my childhood when my father took me to visit one of the masters. I was fascinated by the process of making knives and I slowly started going after school to watch the master and learn about this unique know-how.”
Sodiq’s passion for knife-making began during his younger years. Originally from a family of knife-makers, Sodiq naturally gravitated towards it. During the Soviet Union, joining the army was compulsory. Sodiq managed to continue learning and making knives as he joined the military. It has now been thirty-five years and his children plan on continuing the art of Uzbek knives.
Rich in colours, symbols and meaning, sharp yet comfortable, these knives are loved and used throughout Uzbekistan for daily tasks as simple as cooking.
